We believe healthcare should be clear, not confusing. At Preact Health, we’re building tools that help you understand your health as easily as you understand your credit score. No jargon. No judgment. Just clarity.

The Problem

Healthcare is broken in many ways, but one fundamental issue is communication:

  • Medical terminology that excludes patients from their own care
  • Insurance explanations that might as well be in a foreign language
  • Fragmented information across multiple providers
  • No single, standardized way to understand your overall health status

Your health should be something you understand, not something that happens to you.

Our Solution

Preact Health Core provides a comprehensive health scoring system that:

The Science

Our scoring system is built on evidence-based risk factors validated by clinical research, transparent open-source algorithms anyone can review, continuous validation against clinical outcomes, and peer input from healthcare professionals and data scientists.

Open Source

Our core algorithms are open source on GitHub — transparent, auditable, and community-validated. We want this to be your product and need your input.

Founder & Developer

Erik Renz — Founder

I bring experience in public and private health, epidemiology, clinical science and a love for medicine and data.

Technology Stack

  • Frontend: R Shiny with Rhino framework
  • Backend: PostgreSQL database with role-based access
  • API: FastAPI for health scoring calculations
  • Infrastructure: Docker containers for reproducibility
  • Security: bcrypt password hashing, TLS/SSL encryption

Funding & Sustainability

Preact Health is currently self-funded and free to use. Future sustainability: premium features (always with a free tier), provider tools, research partnerships, and grants. We will never sell individual user data to third parties.
